14 Government Buildings

Using our decades of experience, robust manufacturing capabilities and deep knowledge of bespoke work to modernise lighting throughout 14 government buildings.

Government Buildings

Background

• 98% of luminaires upgraded to include smart controls
• 35,000 fittings delivered in three months
• 291 product variations across all projects
• LiteIP and MyMesh controls fitted
• 24 bespoke retrofit designs created

A government sector found that the lighting used in their 14 buildings was dated & no longer fit for purpose. A widespread overhaul was identified as the only solution to this potentially hazardous issue, addressing every type of luminaire used in the various rooms they occupy. Doing so would have to account for various lighting needs, from narrow and winding corridors to spacious lobbies, as well as being completed swiftly and to a uniform standard.

Work undertaken

The project began with a thorough review of each building’s current lighting setup. Doing so allowed us to quickly ascertain both the fittings needed from our catalogue for the upgrades and the areas where bespoke work would be required. Once complete, we designed full lighting plans for every building in the project, which totalled 291 product variations.

From here, our manufacturing capabilities came to the fore. Our teams worked tirelessly to produce 35,000 fittings in just three months, each of which was delivered on time and in full wherever it was needed.

Further adding to this was the recommendation and installation of smart controls for 98% of the luminaries. As a result, an entire building’s worth of lighting was now controllable remotely, meaning that not only could features such as dimming and scene setting be swiftly adjusted, but huge energy savings were possible by being able to shut off lights for rooms that weren’t in use.
